The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in collaboration with Eurasian Center for Food Security (ECFS) at the Moscow State University and the World Bank organized a training workshop on advanced economy-wide modeling: International Model for Policy Analysis of Agricultural Commodities and Trade (IMPACT) at the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), Moscow, Russia.
The training focused on the practical use of the International Model for Policy Analysis of Agricultural Commodities and Trade (IMPACT). The training aimed to meet a strong demand from policymakers and researchers from Central Asia to understand the implications of climate change for food security in their countries. Over the coming months, IFPRI will be collecting the requisite data to apply the IMPACT model to help answer pressing questions for Central Asia’s food security. The Central Asian economists attending the training will play an active role in improving the database and food production units of the IMPACT model and supporting IFPRI’s modeling work in the region.
More information will be provided later. Stay tuned.
